European framework – Strategic research agenda – Digital Europe – map of the initiatives
QSNP is a European project that belongs to a much bigger, more ambitious pan European initiative known as the Quantum Flagship.
The Quantum Flagship is a large-scale initiative funded at the 1b € level on a 10-year timescale. It consists in a coherent set of research and innovation projects selected through a thorough peer-review process. Calls for projects are issued based on the Flagship’s Strategic Research Agenda, thus ensuring that all actors are aligned in the pursue of the Flagship’s goals.
The goal is to consolidate and expand European scientific leadership and excellence in this research area, to kick-start a competitive European industry in Quantum Technologies and to make Europe a dynamic and attractive region for innovative research, business and investments in this field.

EuroQCI – Petrus
-
QSNP is developing the technology that Will be deployed in the future European Quantum Communications Infrastructure.
Currently, the EuroQCI will safeguard sensitive data and critical infrastructures by integrating quantum-based systems into existing communication infrastructures, providing an additional security layer based on quantum physics. It will reinforce the protection of Europe’s governmental institutions, their data centres, hospitals, energy grids, and more, becoming one of the main pillars of the EU’s Cybersecurity Strategy for the coming decades.
PETRUS is the Coordination & Support Action initiative for the national Quantum Communication Infrastructures to be deployed in the EU Member States in the coming years and supports the Digital Europe Program projects that will form the basis for a European industrial ecosystem for secure quantum technologies.
PETRUS brings together former consortium leaders of the most relevant studies and projects on EuroQCI, bundles their experience and expertise and includes top experts from industry and the academic quantum community.
