QSNP

Amidst the vibrant halls of Mobile World Congress 2024, the Quantum Flagship emerged as a beacon of innovation, captivating audiences with its showcase of European quantum technologies. From a live demonstration of QKD to insightful panel discussions, The European Quantum Zone was a focal point of exploration and collaboration, drawing visitors from around the world ready to learn about the future of quantum technology first hand.

During the event, The European Quantum Zone hosted a series of engaging and informative sessions on the main stage of our stand, offering visitors a comprehensive understanding of some of the European quantum projects and initiatives (QIA, QSNP, PASQuans2, QuKomIn, QVLS) as well as an introduction to the companies represented at the booth (LuxQuanta, Quside, Q*Bird, VPI Photonics, Qoolnet – UPM, Qilimanjaro, ThinkQuantum). From panel discussions featuring leading experts in the field to a live demonstration of an ultra-secure video conference call secured using European QKD technology developed by QSNP partners LuxQuanta and Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, there was something for everyone interested in quantum technologies.

One of the highlights of the Quantum Flagship at MWC24 were the Quantum Coffee Talks. Attendees had the opportunity to hear directly from the experts about the quantum revolution in the fields of cryptography, networks and communication, computing and simulation. From ultra-secure communication networks to analogue quantum computers, the impact of quantum technology was on full display in these 10 minutes talks. Our coordinator Dr. Valerio Pruneri, ICREA Professor at ICFO, had the opportunity to introduce the project during one of the Quantum Coffee Talks, where he talked about the development of quantum cryptography technology and deployment of quantum secure networks. He also moderated a round table about Quantum Communications to Secure the Future where experts Vicente Martín (Professor, UPM), Eleni Diamanti (Research Director, CNRS), Vanesa Díaz (CEO, LuxQuanta), Ismael Pacheco (Product Manager, Cellnex) and Diego López (Tech Expert, Telefónica) talked about the QSNP supply chain and their roles in it.

The European Quantum zone also served as a networking hub, attracting a variety of visitors from across the globe to our QSNP pod. Representatives from governments, research institutions, technology companies and more, met to learn from our QSNP experts, exchange ideas and explore collaboration opportunities. Among the distinguished guests who visited The European Quantum Zone were Joaquim Nadal (Minister of Research and Universities of the Generalitat de Catalunya), Gina Tost (Secretary of Digital Politics of the Generalitat de Catalunya), Daniel Crespo (Dean of Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), and John Hoffman (CEO of GSMA), all eager to gain insights into the latest developments in quantum technologies and the European Commission’s role in driving research and innovation forward.
