QSNP at MWC 2025
10 March 2025
Last week, we had the opportunity to participate in Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 as part of the Quantum Flagship stand “Quantum Europe”. Hosted in Barcelona, MWC is one of the most influential events in the world of connectivity, bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and researchers to discuss the future of technology.
MWC is the hotspot for advancements in telecommunications, AI, and mobile networks. In recent years, quantum technologies have gained attention as a game-changer in secure communications. The European Quantum Flagship had a dedicated space at the event curated by ICFO, demonstrating Europe’s leadership in this transformative field.
At our booth, we engaged with a diverse audience, from industry executives and start-ups to policymakers and researchers, all eager to understand how quantum technologies will shape the future of secure communications. The discussions revolved around quantum key distribution (QKD), post-quantum cryptography, and the development of a pan-European quantum communication infrastructure.

Highlights from QSNP at MWC
Being part of the Quantum Flagship stand allowed us to showcase our work and engage in conversations about the future of quantum-secure networks. Some key moments stood out:
- MWC attracts some of the biggest names in telecom, cybersecurity, and computing. We had the chance to discuss with major telecom operators, cloud service providers, and hardware manufacturers about integrating quantum technologies into their infrastructure. The increasing interest in quantum-secure communication was evident, with many companies actively exploring how to prepare for the post-quantum era.
- One of the standout moments of our MWC experience was organizing a panel discussion on quantum-secure networks. The session brought together experts from the European quantum spin-offs to discuss the real-world applications of quantum cryptography, the challenges of deploying QKD, and the roadmap for a quantum-secure future.
MWC is an excellent platform to strengthen partnerships, discuss ongoing projects, and explore new collaboration opportunities. The event reaffirmed the importance of a European quantum communication network, ensuring that Europe remains at the forefront of innovation.

Quantum technologies for telecom and beyond
One of the key takeaways from MWC25 is that quantum technology is no longer a distant future concept, it’s happening now. As the demand for ultra-secure communications grows, telecommunications companies, financial institutions, and governments are recognizing the need to integrate quantum-safe encryption into their networks.
Our presence at MWC25 reinforced our commitment to advancing quantum-secure networks and contributing to the Quantum Flagship’s mission. The engagemen at the stand confirms that quantum technologies are playing a crucial role in shaping the next generation of secure communications.
A huge thank you to everyone who visited our booth, attended our panel, and engaged with us, we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
