EQTC 2024: Recap!
24 November 2024The European Quantum Technologies Conference, held in Lisbon, once again has stood out as Europe’s prime event for Quantum technologies, including communications, computation, simulation and sensing.
This year’s conference has brought together leaders, innovators and industry representatives to discuss the developments, trends and future prospects of the field. This event has also provided a great platform for the Quantum Flagship projects, like QSNP, to highlight their progress, goals and challenges.
QSNP took advantage of this opportunity to showcase out advancements in quantum-secure communication. We shared exhibition space with the Quantum flagship and other European projects, creating a hub of interactions where we engaged with the attendees.
The conference was a chance to meet and interact with QSNP partners: ICFO, University of Padua, CNRS, LuxQuanta, Instituto Superior Técnico, Deutsche Telekom, Instituto de Telecomunicaçoes, VPI photonics, AIT, Universität Wien, FAU, and more! Most of our partners present actively participated in the conference through talks and poster presentations highlighting the consortium’s expertise.
The conference opened with a welcome address focused on the institutional aspects of quantum technologies featuring presentations by European Commission representative Gustav Kalbe (Acting Director of DG Communications Networks, Content and Technology C Digital Excellence and Science Infrastructure) and Portuguese Secretary of State for Science, Ana Paiva.
The following days delved into the latest advancements in communications, sensing, simulation and computing with plenary talks on the topics, 10 panel discussions, 2 poster sessions, and 23 exhibition spaces showcasing European initiatives and industry applications of quantum technologies.
EQTC 2024 has been an amazing experience, strengthening our network and showcasing our achievements to the scientific and industrial audience. The team extends heartfelt gratitude to all the attendees who visited our booth, participated in discussions, and explored the world of quantum-secure communications with us.
QSNP will continue to work towards advancing quantum cryptography and fostering collaborations within the Quantum Flagship and the broader quantum community.
