European framework – Strategic research agenda – Digital Europe – map of the initiatives
QSNP is a European project that belongs to a much bigger, more ambitious pan European initiative known as the Quantum Flagship.
The Quantum Flagship, a large-scale initiative with a €1 billion budget over 10 years, comprises a cohesive set of research and innovation projects. A rigorous peer-review process carefully selects these projects. Notably, the Flagship’s Strategic Research Agenda generates calls for projects, ensuring all participants align with the Flagship’s overarching goals.
Ultimately, the Flagship has three ambitions: to consolidate and expand European scientific leadership and excellence in the quantum realm, to catalyze the growth of a competitive European Quantum Technologies industry, and to transform Europe into a dynamic and attractive hub for innovative research, business, and investments in this burgeoning field.

EuroQCI – Petrus
-
QSNP is developing the technology that Will be deployed in the future European Quantum Communications Infrastructure.
Currently, the EuroQCI will safeguard sensitive data and critical infrastructures by integrating quantum-based systems into existing communication infrastructures, providing an additional security layer based on quantum physics. It will reinforce the protection of Europe’s governmental institutions, their data centres, hospitals, energy grids, and more, becoming one of the main pillars of the EU’s Cybersecurity Strategy for the coming decades.
PETRUS, the Coordination & Support Action initiative, will lead the deployment of national Quantum Communication Infrastructures across EU Member States in the coming years. It will also support the Digital Europe Program projects that will establish a European industrial ecosystem for secure quantum technologies.
PETRUS unites former consortium leaders from the most relevant EuroQCI studies and projects, combining their experience and expertise. It also includes top experts from industry and the academic quantum community.
